The Alberta Express Entry Stream works differently: Alberta reaches into the federal pool and issues notifications of interest, and having an Alberta connection — past study, past work, family, or a job offer — is what gets you noticed. There is no application you can push; you make yourself visible and wait.

The Accelerated Tech Pathway gives priority processing to tech occupations with an Alberta employer, and it has been one of the quieter success stories for people in software, data and IT support roles.

Alberta has no in-demand occupation list for the Opportunity Stream in the way Saskatchewan does, but it does exclude a list of ineligible occupations, so check yours before you count on it.
