Ontario PNP 2026 — OINP
Ontario tore its own program down this summer. On 26 June 2026 all eight older OINP streams closed under O. Reg. 422/17 — Human Capital Priorities, Skilled Trades, Masters and PhD Graduate, and the Employer Job Offer streams — and uninvited profiles were withdrawn. In their place is one stream, Ontario Workforce Priority, whose expression-of-interest portal reopened on 4 August 2026.
The practical effect is blunt: unless you are a self-employed physician, Ontario now needs a full-time permanent job offer from an Ontario employer, and the employer registers before you do. If you were sitting in the pool waiting for a Human Capital Priorities notification, that route no longer exists.
The one thing Ontario does better than almost anyone else is TEER 4 and 5. Most provinces will not nominate a cook, a cashier or a labourer at all. The Essential Worker pathway does, which makes Ontario worth a serious look for people the rest of the system ignores — as long as an employer is willing to sign.
A second phase, adding Exceptional Talent and Priority Healthcare pathways, has been signalled but has not launched. Per-pathway language and education thresholds are new and this tool does not model them yet, so treat every Ontario result here as a starting point and read the official page.

Ontario · OINP
Workforce Priority — Essential Worker
Base stream · apply direct, no Express Entry profile
The same stream for TEER 4 and 5 work — the jobs most programs shut out entirely.
What it asks for
- A permanent, full-time job offer from an Ontario employer
- NOC TEER 4 or 5
- Language around CLB 4 or above, set per pathway

Workforce Priority — Self-Employed Physician
Base stream · apply direct, no Express Entry profile
The one Ontario pathway with no job offer, for self-employed physicians practising in Ontario.
What it asks for
- Physician practising or intending to practise in Ontario
- Physician-specific requirements set by the province
These are the conditions we are able to summarise. What decides your actual outcome is the
province's own points grid, its current in-demand occupation list, and whether intake is even
open this week — none of which we can verify for you.
